Red Velvet’s Wendy and her Manila ReVeluvs created wonderful memories at the ‘W:EALIVE’ concert in Manila on January 17, 2026. Marking her first solo concert in the country and serving as the grand finale of her world tour, Wendy filled the New Frontier Theater with emotion, laughter, and unparalleled vocal prowess. It was the wonderful chapter that spanned the globe, filling hearts with healing and excitement.
Here’s how this magical night served as the perfect closing chapter for her tour in Manila.
Wendy proves she is ‘Fireproof
From the moment the lights dimmed, fans knew they were witnessing something special. “So fire away!” The theater erupted with deafening cheers as Wendy’s voice filled the stage before she launched into “Fireproof.” A breathtaking blue ocean, created by lightsticks and wristbands, illuminated the venue. She continued to captivate the audience with “Hate²” and “Queen of The Party,” her stage presence shining as bright as the ocean before her. During “Chapter You,” handwritten lyrics flashed on the screen, adding a personal touch to the performance. She brought her songs to life with theatrical flair, using props that perfectly matched the themes of “His Car Isn’t Yours,” “Better Judgement,” and “Vermilion.
If there’s one thing W:EALIVE did perfectly, it was capturing Wendy’s entire artistic range in one sweeping night. From performing soul-stirring tracks like “When This Rain Stops” and “Like Water to delivering fun, delightful energy with ‘Wish You Hell’ and ‘Sunkiss,’ Wendy created a world of mixed emotions, reminding everyone of the healing comfort found in her voice. As a special treat for the ReVeluvs, Wendy surprised everyone with her own rendition of Red Velvet’s “Light Me Up.” The atmosphere instantly felt like home, bringing out all the ‘Red Velvet feels’ She also treated the audience to a dedicated OST segment, singing “Goodbye” (from Beauty Inside), “Because I Love You,” “If I Could Read Your Mind” (from Yumi’s Cells), and “Two Worlds” (from Start-Up).
‘Walang Huhuwei’ with Wendy
Even as a soloist, Wendy’s chemistry with the crowd remains effortless and genuine. Every ment felt just like listening to her radio show, “Wendy’s Youngstreet”. In one memorable moment, the crowd roared with laughter when Wendy attempted to say, “Walang uuwi” (No one is going home). “Walang huhuwei!” she shouted adorably, a mispronunciation that instantly became a core memory for everyone in attendance. The crowd responded with laughter and “Isa pa!” (One more!) chants, sharing in the joy.
Deeply touched by the energy of her Filipino ReVeluvs, Wendy found herself overwhelmed by the “woo woo woo” chants that echoed through the venue. She even joined in the fun by doing the popular “Eyyy” sign. When fans chanted for “Zimzalabim,” Wendy wittily declined, joking that it wasn’t on the setlist because fans couldn’t get enough of the “Zimzalabim” fun with the rest of the Red Velvet members.
A letter to Manila: ‘Our next chapter together’
The encore turned the concert into something truly sentimental. Wendy returned to the stage to perform “Best Friend” and “The Road,” which felt like a warm hug, followed by “Existential Crisis.” As the show neared its end, the emotions reached their peak. Fans surprised Wendy with a touching video tribute and a banner that read, “Because of Wendy, every moment feels alive.” In return, accompanied by a soft piano melody, Wendy read a handwritten letter she prepared for her Manila fans and the staff who accompanied her on the tour.
Dearest Manila ReVeluvs and fans, I am overflowing with gratitude as a journey that began in South Korea finds its beautiful ending here in Manila with all of you today… You have been the ones who filled my heart, giving me more love, more strength, and more light than I ever imagined possible… On the stage surrounded by your voices, I have felt whole and deeply alive… This isn’t goodbye; this is just the beginning of our next chapter together.
The emotions hit their peak when fans playfully teased her with “Iiyak na yan” (She’s going to cry) as she fought back tears while reading the letter. However, the night wasn’t over yet. For the second encore, Wendy gave it her all, performing not one, not two, but three songs: “Vermilion,” “Hate²,” and “Wish You Hell,” going all out with the Manila ReVeluvs.

And the best part? Everyone at the New Frontier Theater got the chance to see Wendy up close during the send-off part of the show. No aisle was left unturned as Wendy went around the theater from the ground floor up to the second floor. She waved her hands, made heart signs, and said thank you to all the Manila ReVeluvs who joined her for the last stop of her W:EALIVE World Tour. Truly, a genuine fan experience from the heart.
From start to finish, W:EALIVE in Manila wasn’t just another concert. It was a celebration of a journey coming full circle between Wendy and the Filipino ReVeluvs who have stood by her. From the healing notes of “Like Water” to the fiery spirit of “Sunkiss,” every performance celebrated her passion, resilience, and unwavering love. She then ended the show with a promise of a next chapter. Wendy proved that her voice is more than just a melody. It is a home where ReVeluvs can always return to find comfort and feel truly alive.
